On the Wheels

pre-production / animation / documentary / 15 mins

On a long night drive, a passenger accompanies a truck driver transporting artworks across regions. What begins as casual conversation slowly shifts as the driver recalls a defining moment from his childhood: the day his father was taken away by armed men, never to return.

As the road stretches through forests and checkpoints, fragments of memory emerge, intertwined with stories of silence, survival, and the lingering weight of political violence. The passenger listens, records, and gently probes, while his own distance from these histories becomes apparent.

Set almost entirely within the confined space of the truck, the film unfolds through dialogue, pauses, and the passing landscape. On the Wheels reflects on how histories are carried not through official records, but through fragile, spoken traces—stories that persist even as they are asked to be forgotten.
